Enemy getting ready for new offensive: Airfield in Transnistria being prepared to receive aircraft
The press service of the General Staff of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
According to an operational update regarding the Russian invasion as of 06:00 on April 6, the threat of enemy’s use of naval, air and ground-based missile weapons remains. The invaders are inflicting fire damage on defense facilities, logistics infrastructure and residential areas of cities.
The General Staff notes that the enemy is trying to improve the tactical situation in the Pivdennyi Bug direction. The Ukrainian military do not rule out the use of the territory of the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to support offensive operations in this direction. The Tiraspol airfield is being prepared to receive aircraft.
In the Volyn direction, there are no signs of the formation of offensive groups.
In the Polissia direction, the Russian invaders did not conduct any active actions. Some of the enemy units withdrawn from this direction are now located in Belarus.
In the Siverskyi direction, the resuming of the enemy's occupation units, which had previously been withdrawn to the Bryansk and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation, is underway.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy continues to block the city of Kharkiv and launch artillery shelling in certain areas.
In the Izium direction, the Russian invaders did not abandon their intentions to create a strike group and continue the offensive in the direction of the settlements of Sloviansk and Barvinkove.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position of its units. The Russian forces continues to carry out assault operations in the areas of Popasna, Stepne, Novotoshkivske, Rubizhne, Severodonetsk and Solodke, but failed to achieve any success.
As Ukrinform reported, the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed eight cruise missiles on April 5.
