Five people were injured by Russian artillery shelling in the town of Sievierodonetsk, the Luhansk region.

Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk regional military administration, said this in a statement released on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Currently, we have five people who were injured while standing in line at a humanitarian aid center. With no success at the front line, the Russians continue to cynically target civilians," Haidai wrote.

Earlier in the Luhansk region, Russian troops shelled Sievierodonetsk from artillery, damaging at least ten apartment buildings, two schools and several stores.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying critical infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
