Vereshchuk says 4,354 people evacuated on Monday
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Vereshchuk said this on Telegram.
She said 3,854 people arrived in Zaporizhia from Mariupol and Berdiansk in private vehicles and evacuation buses. Some 556 of them arrived from Mariupol and 3,298 from the towns of Polohy, Vasylivka, Berdiansk and Melitopol.
In addition, over 500 people were evacuated from the towns of Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kreminna and Popasna in the Luhansk region. At the same time, the ceasefire regime was constantly violated by the occupation forces.
Vereshchuk earlier advised citizens not to ignore calls by the authorities to evacuate from dangerous areas. On February 24, Russian President Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion of the country.
