Battles raging near Sloviansk, Popasna and Kurakhove – General Staff
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As of 06:00 a.m., April 14, 2022, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine continued.
The enemy is building up military air forces near the eastern border of Ukraine, enforcing artillery units, optimizing the existing command systems, intelligence and medical support.
There is a persistent threat of Russia’s missile strikes all over Ukraine.
Russian invaders continue to systematically launch missile and air strikes on military and civil infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv Region, Donetsk Region and Zaporizhzhia Region.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not take active actions.
The certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces continue to carry out tasks related the coverage of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest Region and Gomel Region. Planned combat training activities are underway.
In the Belarusian town of Kholmech, at checkpoints, the military police of the Belarusian and Russian armed forces are checking personal phones. Civilians are informed that the Ukrainian units may attack Belarus at any time.
In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy is regrouping the units of the Central Military District from Bryansk Region and Kursk Region. After restoring the combat capability, these units get concentrated in Belgorod Region and Voronezh Region.
The enemy is enhancing the border control, hardening positions, bases and ensuring the presence of a small number of personnel, weapons and military equipment.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops are conducting the reconnaissance of potential attack areas, expanding the reconnaissance system, management and medical support.
The enemy continues to partially block the city of Kharkiv and shell the city with artillery, regroup units and replenish supplies.
In the Donetsk and Tavriiskyi directions, Russian troops were fighting near Sloviansk, Popasna and Kurakhove, attempted to storm the city of Mariupol but failed to succeed. Battles are raging.
Near Sievierodonetsk, Russian troops are enhancing forces with the separate units of the 2nd All Arms Army of the Central Military District.
Coercive mobilization measures are underway within the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region. In Horlivka, daily tours of private houses and apartment blocks are held.
Reportedly, the Russian command set a task to mobilize 60-70 thousand people within the so-called ‘DPR’. However, these figures were met by 20 percent only.
In the Southern Bug direction, Russian troops are making efforts to restore the combat capability, replenish ammunition and harden positions. The enemy is firing on the positions of the Ukrainian forces.
Russian invaders are fighting near Oleksandrivka, attempting to resume an offensive in order to regain control over the lost positions near Osokorivka.
Over the past day, within Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region, Ukrainian defenders have repulsed eight enemy attacks, destroyed a tank, four armored vehicles, six motor vehicles and one enemy artillery system. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile forces shot down two enemy fighters.
