Ukrainian intelligence gets documents about Russia's initial plans to take Kyiv
That's according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
"Documents obtained by the Ukrainian military intelligence show the intentions of the occupiers to capture the Ukrainian capital. In particular, a grouping of Russian troops 'Center,' which operated in the Chernihiv and Sumy directions, was tasked with capturing the left-bank part of Kyiv," the statement said.
According to the statement, this is stated in a combat order issued to the commander of the 96th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade, which he received from the headquarters of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District. The document outlines the phases of the offensive and the tasks for the brigade personnel.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the analysis of the enemy's combat documents reveals their real plans to capture the Ukrainian capital, whereas statements by Russian politicians and propagandists about a voluntary retreat of Russian forces from around Kyiv are another lie and the intention to cover up the defeat of the invading forces.
