Russia’s shelling of Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and regions – data from military administrations
The relevant statement was made in a consolidated report by regional military administrations on the situation across Ukrainian regions as of 08:00 a.m., April 16, 2022, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Yesterday, the Russian military launched strikes on civilian objects in Mykolaiv with multiple rocket launcher systems. Reportedly, five people were killed and 15 people were injured.
In Dnipropetrovsk Region, the enemy hit an economic infrastructure facility last night. Buildings were destroyed. No casualties were reported.
In Poltava Region, Russian troops damaged an economic infrastructure facility in one of villages late in the evening. Some buildings were destroyed. One person was killed, another one was injured, but hospital admission was not needed.
In Kirovohrad Region, Russians launched a strike on an infrastructure facility late in the evening. Fire was extinguished. Some people were killed and injured. Emergency works are underway.
In the city of Kharkiv, the enemy shelling has become more extensive in certain districts. Yesterday, over 50 civilians were wounded and nine persons were killed across the city.
In Kharkiv Region, Russian troops were shelling Derhachi, Balakliia, Zolochiv. Three persons were wounded, two persons were killed. Battles are raging in the direction of Izium.
In Luhansk Region, such settlements as Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk and Kreminna are under continuous mortar fire. One person was killed in Kreminna, three persons were injured in Lysychansk. The central gas pipeline was damaged in Sievierodonetsk. The city has been left without water and gas supplies. The Russian shell also hit a gas pipeline in Lysychansk, but the effects were much less significant.
In Donetsk region, Russian troops were shelling Pokrovsk District (such villages as Zaporizhzhia and Sribne) late in the evening. Residential houses caught fire. A nursery school was damaged. The Ocheretyne community and Novoselivka-3 were under fire throughout the night. In Mariupol, the situation is critical.
In Kherson Region, blasts and shelling are heard. No casualties or destructions were reported. Russian troops have caused a humanitarian catastrophe across many settlements and continue to loot.
The night has passed relatively calmly in such regions as Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Sumy.
