Zelensky: 18 people killed in shelling of Kharkiv over past four days
"Constant shelling of our Kharkiv city continues. Today, Russian troops struck, in particular, the Culture, Shevchenko, and Darwin streets. Apparently, these words – "culture", "Shevchenko", "Darwin" – are especially dangerous for Russia. This is something that threatens its existence," President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his video address on the evening of April 17, Ukrinform reports.
He noted that according to the latest data, five Kharkiv residents were killed and at least 15 people were injured in the strike.
"Over the past four days alone, 18 people were killed and 106 more were injured in Russian shelling of Kharkiv. This is nothing but deliberate terror – mortars, artillery is fired on ordinary residential areas, ordinary civilians," Zelensky said.
On February 24, Russia launched a new phase of the eight-year war against Ukraine – a full-scale offensive. The enemy massively shells and bombs Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages.
The Armed Forces, the Territorial Defense Forces, and the entire Ukrainian people are effectively resisting Russian troops and inflicting heavy losses on them.
