572 children suffered in Ukraine since Russian invasion started

As many as 572 children have suffered in Ukraine since the start of the Russian full-scale armed aggression, according to data provided by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

“More than 572 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s armed aggression. In particular, 205 children were killed and more than 367 were injured. These figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” the PGO’s press service wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

The largest number of victims has been recorded in Donetsk region – 118, Kyiv region - 108, Kharkiv region - 91, Chernihiv region - 54, Kherson region – 43, Mykolaiv region - 40, Luhansk region – 36, Zaporizhzhia region – 25, Sumy region – 16, Kyiv city – 16, and Zhytomyr region – 15.

Ιt was established that on March 14, in a forest strip near the village of Zakharivka, Kyiv region, a civilian car carrying the family, which tried to evacuate to a safe place, blew up on an unidentified explosive device. An 8-year-old child was injured and the child’s mother died.

On April 18, a 16-year-old girl was wounded in Russian artillery shelling of the village of Shandryholove in Donetsk region.

In addition, on April 18, a 14-year-old girl was injured in the shelling of the village of Preobrazhenka in Zaporizhzhia region.

 On April 18, a 3-year-old child in Russian missile strikes on Lviv city.

In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 1,141 educational institutions. Of which, 99 were completely destroyed.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
