Russian troops attempt to speed up the offensive in eastern Ukraine – General Staff
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not take active actions. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were revealed.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops continue to partially blockade the city of Kharkiv, launch artillery strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces and civil infrastructure facilities near Chuhuiv, Korobochkino and Dovhenke.
In the Donetsk and Tavriiskyi directions, the enemy is focusing efforts to gain control over Popasna and Rubizhne, and preparing for the offensive towards Sievierodonetsk. Near Marinka, as well as in most other directions, Russian troops failed to succeed during hostilities.
In the Southern Bug direction, Russian occupiers did not carry out active offensive operations. Sometimes they launched cannon artillery strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces.
According to the available information, Russian troops have significant problems with the medical support of their units. There are difficulties with the evacuation of the wounded and a lack of medicine. Due to the growing number of the wounded, in the city of Balakliia, the enemy is using the capabilities of the local outpatient clinic along with the deployed military hospital.
In the city of Vovchansk, which is temporarily occupied by Russian troops, junior medical staff members are forcibly sent to provide first aid to Russian units within the contact line.
Also, Russian troops have significant problems with the replenishment of personnel. They continue to attempt to forcibly mobilize local residents in Kherson Region.
According to the available information, Russian invaders are using civilian trucks to transport military cargo within the temporarily occupied territories. Also, Russian occupiers are using the stolen agricultural machinery for military purposes.
A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and April 23, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 21,600 troops.
