Russian troops use cluster munitions in Donetsk Region’s Zaitseve

The relevant statement was made in a consolidated report on the situation across Ukraine by regional military and civil administrations as of 08:00 a.m., April 27, 2022, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In Donetsk Region, active hostilities were raging all over the contact line. The enemy launched air and rocket artillery strikes on Avdiivka. Russian troops used cluster munitions within the Svitlodarsk territorial community and the village of Zaitseve. Such settlements ass Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Vuhledar and Lyman were continuously shelled by Russian invaders with artillery systems. In Mariupol, the situation remained unchanged. Azovstal defenders continue to fight despite air strikes.

In Poltava Region, air raid alerts sounded throughout the night. The information on explosions did not prove to be true.

In Dnipropetrovsk Region, the enemy shelled the Zelenodolsk territorial community, bordering with Kherson Region. In Zelenodolsk, Russian troops hit an energy infrastructure facility, leaving one person injured. Such settlements as Zelenodolsk, Marianske and Velyka Kostromka came under fire. According to the preliminary data, no casualties were reported.

In Kharkiv, Russia’s shelling caused a fire in several high-rise apartment blocks in Kyivskyi District. No casualties had been yet reported. In Kharkiv Region, such settlements as Zolochiv, Derhachi and Chuhuiv came under enemy fire. Battles in the Izium direction are raging.

In Luhansk Region, the entire territory was affected by Russia’s shelling. Rubizhne and Lysychansk suffered the most. In Lysychansk, a local school came under enemy fire with 23 civilians hiding in its basement. No casualties were reported. Over the past day, three civilians have been killed.

In Kherson Region, battles are raging at the border with such territorial communities as Vysokopilla, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Novovorontsovka and Stanislav. Explosions and shelling were heard throughout the night.

In the rest of regions, the situation was relatively calm last night.
