In occupied areas, Russian invaders lie to locals about ‘forcible mobilization’ in Ukraine

In the temporarily occupied territories, Russian invaders are spreading disinformation, claiming the Ukrainian government is forcibly mobilizing all male citizens.

As Ukrinform reports, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) shared the story on Telegram.

“The invaders are actively circulating among the residents of the temporarily occupied settlements claims of the alleged general forcible mobilization of all men entering the Ukraine-controlled territory. The occupiers are also spreading similar rumors at the checkpoints they are manning,” the CCD informs.

The aggressors explain that this is due to the allegedly “huge” losses sustained by the Ukrainian Army and the need to replenish its ranks.

The CCD emphasises that this is misinformation aimed at reducing the number of men in the temporarily occupied territories. This may complicate combat missions for the Ukrainian Army.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian Federation is spreading misinformation that Europeans do not see Ukraine as a potential member of the European Union.
