Shoigu lies about Mariupol, Russians continuously storming Azovstal plant
The relevant statement was made by the CCD on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Shortly after Putin’s public order not to storm the Mariupol-based Azovstal plant, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that Mariupol was returning to ‘peaceful life’, and they were making continuous attempts to reach an agreement on evacuation with the Ukrainian military.
“In fact, storming operations have not stopped for a day. Rashists were alternating artillery strikes with attempts to enter the territory of the Azovstal plant,” the CCD stressed.
According to the CCD, Shoigu and Putin continue to spread disinformation to justify their ‘special operation’. They hope to ease sanctions and reduce international support for Ukraine.
A reminder that, in the evening of May 4, 2022, Ukrainian authorities recovered connection with Mariupol defenders, remaining within the Azovstal plant. Reportedly, Russian troops had already entered the plant’s territory.
