Canada to help Ukraine demine occupied territories - Zelensky
That’s according to the President's Office, Ukrinform reports.
"The Russian occupiers left behind thousands of mines, thousands of booby traps and shells. They threaten our people, our children. And today we have agreed to establish maximum cooperation in this regard, so that there is no such ‘exclusion zone’ left in Ukraine, which cannot be entered over the threat of Russian mines," the president said.
Zelensky clarified that the Canadian delegation had the opportunity to visit the suburbs of Kyiv, liberated from the occupiers, and see firsthand the destruction that the Russian Federation is leaving behind on Ukrainian soil.
As Ukrinform reported, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Ukraine on May 8. Prior to meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, he visited Irpin, Kyiv region.
