Active hostilities underway in Ukraine’s east, high threat of missile attacks persists across country
That’s according to the latest update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian occupiers are focusing on Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions.
There is a high probability of Russian missile strikes on civilian and military infrastructure throughout Ukraine, the General Staff stressed.
In the Volyn and Polissia areas, Russian enemy took no significant action and no offensive groups were being formed.
The situation in the Siversky direction hasn’t changed. The Russian border guards stay put at checkpoints and in the border areas of Russia’s Bryansk and Kursk regions, fortifying positions near the state border of Ukraine.
Russian enemy ran no offensive operations in the Slobozhansky direction, sticking to defenses. The main efforts continue to be focused on preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops towards the state border of Ukraine.
In the Izium direction, the Russian forces are working to restock on equipment and ammo, preparing for further offensive operations in the Izium-Barvinkove and Izium-Sloviansk directions and conducting air reconnaissance.
The battle for Rubizhne continues in the Sieiverodonetsk direction.
The Russians are trying to improve their tactical positions by capturing the city and creating favorable conditions for further development of offensive operations in the areas of Lyman and Sieiverodonetsk. The attempt to storm Voevodivka saw no success and the Russians were forced to retreat.
In the Lyman direction, the Russians are trying to advance in the areas of Oleksandrivka and Shandryholove.
In the Bakhmut direction, they fought unsuccessfully in the area of Toshkivka.
In the Avdiyivka direction, the invaders are trying to improve their tactical situation in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivka, Novoselivka Druha, and Verkhnotoretske. The firefights continue.
In the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhia directions, certain enemy units are regrouping in order to prepare for further action. It is expected that the said group will be replenished at the expense of units that earlier operated in the area of Mariupol.
In the South Buh and Tavria directions, the Russians regrouped the existing units in order to improve the tactical position of their troops. They are deploying more firepower and air defense systems, improving engineering equipment positions. In order to prevent the transfer of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces to other areas and to bind them, demonstrative maneuvers are conducted.
The situation in the Bessarabian direction in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova remained unchanged.
In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, Russian Fleet’s warships continue to block the area of hostilities and run reconnaissance missions.
Almost along the entire line of contact, Russian enemy continues to use all available artillery and aircraft to fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops and destroy civilian and military infrastructure. In the city of Mariupol, despite the declared "ceasefire," the Russians resumed shelling of and assault on the Azovstal plant.
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the Russians continue to take policing measures. The celebration of the so-called "Victory Day" was simulated for the Russian media in some of the occupied settlements.
The losses of Russian enemy exceed the replenishment numbers, which significantly affects their overall morale and becomes a prerequisite for the personnel to refuse from further participation in the war against Ukraine.
