Russians storming Luhansk Region, shelling front line and southern Ukraine – consolidated data

The relevant statement was made in a consolidated report by regional military and civil administrations on the situation across Ukraine as of 08:00 a.m., May 26, 2022, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In Luhansk Region, Russia’s storming attempts caused damage to Impulse Research and Production Association, 11 apartment blocks in Sievierodonetsk, eight apartment blocks and detached houses, culture hall and administrative services center in Lysychansk, four houses in Pryvillia, two houses in Novodruzhesk, and two houses in Hirske. Three civilians were killed in Lysychansk.

In Donetsk Region, Russian invaders opened fire all over the front line. Over the past day, four civilians have been killed and 12 injured. In Marinka, Russians used incendiary projectiles, and the scale of fires is yet to be updated. Evacuation efforts are underway.

Yesterday, Mykolaiv Region’s Mykolaiv District came under enemy fire. Four civil and administrative infrastructure facilities were damaged in Russia’s shelling of Solonchaky. One person was injured. In the afternoon of May 25, 2022, one person was killed in Russia’s shelling of Pervomaiske. In addition, a shop and residential house were damaged in Kotliareve. Russian troops continued to shell the Shyrokove community, Bashtanka District. Residential houses were damaged and destroyed, but no casualties were reported. The Bereznehuvate community was under continuous enemy fire during the day and at night. One person was killed and one injured.

In Kherson Region, the situation remained tense. Russian troops are shelling not only the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also the temporarily occupied areas. The situation is critical in the communities located near Snihurivka, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk Region.

In Khmelnytskyi Region, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down a Russian missile. No casualties or damage were reported.

In Dnipropetrovsk Region, air raid sirens were ringing last night. At 00:00 (midnight), Russian troops shelled the Apostolove community with artillery systems. No casualties were reported.

In Kharkiv Region, air raid sirens were ringing last night. Single shots were heard in Kharkiv, but no casualties were reported. Yesterday, Russian troops shelled Balakliia, Izium District. Eight civilians were injured, including a child, and two killed. Russians also opened fire on Tsyrkuny and Slobozhanske, Chuhuiv District, leaving two civilians injured.

Meanwhile, last night it was relatively calm in such regions as Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Ternopil, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava.
