Enemy withdraws some of its units from Lyman

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its latest war update published on Facebook.

As of 18:00 on May 29, the enemy did not stop offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and block Ukraine's maritime communications in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

The aggressor continued shelling the border areas of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, in particular, the settlements of Senkivka, Hirsk, Khrinivka, Hasychivka in the Chernihiv region and the settlements of Bachivsk, Seredyna Buda, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Manukhivka in the Sumy region.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy, with the support of artillery, carried out assault operations in the direction of Pasika - Bohorodychne, but had no success and retreated to previously occupied positions. The enemy fired several times from artillery and mortars at the settlements of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Dovhenke and Virnopillia.

Russian troops conducted active hostilities in the Sievierodonetsk, Bakhmut, and Kurakhove areas. The main goal of the enemy is to encircle Ukrainian troops in the areas of Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk and to block the main logistics routes.

"The enemy is actively using aircraft, forces and means of missile forces and artillery, electronic warfare. In order to make further attempts to force a crossing of the Siverskyi Donets River in certain areas, it is replenishing ammunition and fuel," the General Staff said.

Outside Kurakhove, the enemy fires along the line of contact in order to deplete Ukrainian personnel and destroy fortifications.

In the Lyman direction, some enemy units were withdrawn from the settlement of Lyman.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy was preparing for assault operations, using mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers outside Komyshuvakha, Dolomitne, and New York. The enemy launched an air strike in the areas of Berestove and Pokrovske and fired four missiles at the settlements of Verkhniokamianske, Vrubivka and Soledar.

Ukraine's Armed Forces have already eliminated about 30,150 Russian soldiers from February 24 to May 29.
