The main prerequisites for Ukraine to achieve victory in the war waged by Russia remain unchanged: maximum sanctions pressure, supplies of required weaponry, and a candidate status on the path to full EU membership.

This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a comment marking 100 days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that in the 100 days of the war, the Kremlin had not achieved its main goal – which was conquering Ukraine. Instead, Russia has become the world’s most sanctioned state, while its activities within international organizations and participation in international events have been significantly restricted or terminated altogether.

"In order to stop Russia's crimes against the Ukrainian people, the destruction of our economy, and blackmail of the world by famine, consistent support for Ukraine must prevail... The main prerequisites for Ukraine's victory remain unchanged: maximum sanctions pressure, supply of the necessary weapons, and the granting of candidate status on the path to full EU membership," the Foreign Ministry said.

Ukrainian diplomats stressed that sanctions pressure should further increase until the Kremlin ceases the war it’s been waging and is properly prosecuted for its crimes, including thtough compensation for destruction and court sentences for war criminals.

"The Putin regime must lose all influence in the world and its ability to carry out external aggression, conduct informational and psychological operations, spread corruption, and manipulate history and culture in order to protect its aggressive interests," the Foreign Ministry said.

MFA Ukraine also called on the international community to support the setup of a Special Tribunal to investigate the crimes of Russian aggression toward Ukraine. "Russian criminals must face the tribunal in the same fashion as Nazi Germany leaders," Ukrainian diplomats are convinced.

The Foreign Ministry expressed confidence that Ukraine's victory in the war would be an impetus for renewing the overall architecture of global security and creating effective mechanisms that would prevent the recurrence of Russian or any other international aggression.

Friday, June 3, marks 100 days since the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This act of aggression is an unprovoked war by the permanent member of the UN Security Council against the state, which is one of the founders of the United Nations. The full-scale invasion is the continuation of aggressive actions Russia took eight years ago by occupying Crimea and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Every day, Ukrainian defenders, at the cost of their lives, resolutely repulse the Russian military machine, fighting for freedom and a peaceful future for the entire continent, the comment concludes.
