Situation in eastern Ukraine: Enemy shelling entire line of defense, Ukrainian army repels ten attacks
The press service of the Joint Forces Task Force said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"Ukrainian defenders of the Joint Forces Task Force repelled ten enemy attacks today. Fighting is still ongoing at two locations," the statement said.
Along the entire line of defense, the enemy uses combat aircraft, multiple rocket launchers, large-caliber artillery, tanks, mortars, launching missile and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure and peaceful residential areas.
The occupiers fired on more than 20 settlements in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, destroying and damaging 48 civilian objects, including 42 houses, a lyceum, a mining college, a poultry farm, a building of a civil defense department, and a sports club.
Two civilians were killed and 12 injured by these attacks, the report said.
In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces destroyed a tank, three artillery systems, two armored fighting vehicles and two ammunition depots.
Ukrainian air defense units shot down two Orlan-10 drones in the skies of the Ukrainian Donbas.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine earlier said that the enemy concentrates its main efforts on attempts to establish full control over the city of Sievierodonetsk and block Ukrainian troops near the city of Lysychansk.
