Long-range artillery to allow clearing Siverodonetsk of enemy forces in a few days - region chief
Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai shared his opinion on Facebook.
"The Russians stick to primitive tactics: heavy artillery shelling, followed by attempted breakthroughs. The same thing happened in previously destroyed Rubizhne and Popasna. The enemy is heavily bombarding the industrial area, which we control. If we get Western long-range weapons quickly then an artillery duel begins, the ‘Soviets’ will lose to the West, and our defenders will be able to clear Siverodonetsk in two to three days," Haidai reported.
The regional chief says that the Russians have no full control of Siverodonetsk. Silence in Siverodonetsk lasts only until their guns are reloaded. Urban warfare is ongoing in the region’s center.
Evacuation from Sievierodonetsk and the delivery of humanitarian cargoes are still impossible. Serhii Haidai added that the hospital now has everything required to stabilize the wounded.
Contact with the humanitarian headquarters has not been lost so goods are being shipped to Lysychansk every day.
"The Russians have no control of the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway but they constantly shell it. Therefore, using it stands a 90% chance of being targeted. The road is not being used at the moment," the head of the region stressed.
As reported, Russian troops are trying to establish full control over Luhansk region by June 10, but, Serhii Haidai says that the Russian command is already setting a new date, “Russia Day,” which is marked on June 12.
