Ukraine’s Armed Forces stop offensive in Bakhmut direction. Enemy suffers losses, retreats
"Despite the losses we inflict on them, the Russian armed forces continue to conduct grueling high-intensity hostilities on a wide front. In particular, in Sievierodonetsk direction, the enemy conducts assault operations to establish full control of Sievierodonetsk. The invaders have no success at the moment. In Lyman direction, the enemy gets ready to attack Slovyansk. In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to fire artillery, MLRS. The invaders carried out offensive, suffered losses, and had to withdraw their units to restore," Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine–Ukrinform.
According to him, in Kharkiv direction, the enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied frontiers, inflicting fire damage on Ukraine’s defense forces.
In Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolayiv directions, the enemy pursues a positional defense, inflicts fire damage on the Ukrainian units, focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied frontiers. If the invaders succeed, they intend to take full control of the territory of Kherson region, "capture the city of Mykolayiv and create conditions for the attack on Odesa," Hromov said.
The enemy did not take active action in Chernihiv, Konotop, and Sumy directions, and no signs of the formation of strike groups are observed.
There are no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups in Bessarabsky direction as well.
In the Black Sea, according to the General Staff data, five cruise missile carriers with a total of up to 36 Kalibr missiles are on alert.
As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 31,700 Russian personnel from February 24 to June 9.
