Ukraine’s Armed Forces repulse enemy assault in Kharkiv direction

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Russian invasion as of 06:00 on June 28, published on Facebook.

In Volyn and Polissya directions, the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus conduct scheduled communication exercises with the involvement of communication points of control points.

In Siversky direction, the aggressor fired tube and rocket artillery in the areas of Pokrovka, Starykove, Porozok, and Verkhnya Pozhnia, Sumy region. The enemy used Orlan-10 UAV to reconnoiter the Ukrainian positions in the border areas of Chernihiv region.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy troops focus their main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops to the state border of Ukraine, continue to conduct assault operations to improve the tactical situation, and restrain the actions of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The enemy launched an airstrike near Yavirske and fired artillery on the elements of infrastructure near Kharkiv, Ruska Lozova, Staryi Saltiv, Peremoha, Chepil, and Milova.

In Slovyansk direction, the enemy assaults Dovhenke-Dolyna direction and creates conditions for an offensive on Slovyansk. The main efforts are focused on continuing the offensive in the direction of Izium – Slovyansk.

The invaders fired artillery and MLRS on the positions of Ukrainian troops, used UAV to reconnoiter the situation near the village of Hrushuvakha. The Ukrainian defenders resolutely stopped the enemy's attempted assault in the direction of Dovhenke – Dolyna and pushed the enemy back.

The enemy did not take active action in Kramatorsk direction. The invaders fired tube artillery on Mayaky and Tetianivka.

In Lysychansk direction, in order to inflict losses, the occupiers fired mortars and artillery, launched airstrikes in the areas of Mykolayivka and Yakovlivka.

The enemy conducts assault operations in the direction of Vovchoyarivka and southern outskirts of the Lysychansk oil refinery. Fighting continues.

The enemy does not give up hope to take control of Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway. To detect the firing positions of the Ukrainian units, the invaders conducted combat reconnaissance in the direction of Mykolayivka – Spirne, and later launched an offensive in that direction. Ukrainian soldiers successfully suppressed all those attempts and forced the enemy to retreat.

In Bakhmut direction, the occupiers fired artillery on the areas of Kostiantynivka, Bilohorivka, Vyimka, Pokrovske, Bakhmut, and Soledar. The enemy also carries out assault operations in the direction of Myronivka – Vuhlehirsk TPP, the fighting continues.

In Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy did not take active action, firing tube and rocket artillery on the areas of Vodiane, Avdiivka, Katerynivka, Komar, Shcherbaky, Zelenyi Hai, and Novodanylivka. The Russians launched air strikes near Kamyanka, Avdiivka, and Shevchenko.

The Ukrainian soldiers repulsed the assault in the direction of Yehorivka – Pavlivka. The enemy retreated, suffering losses.

In the Southern Buh direction, the enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the previously occupied frontiers, preventing the Ukrainian troops from conducting counter-offensive operations in Kherson and Mykolayiv regions. In order to thwart the regrouping of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the enemy fired artillery and MLRS on the Ukrainian positions. The aggressors launched an airstrike near the village of Potiomkyne.

In the northwestern part of the Black Sea, the Black Sea Fleet's naval group continues to block naval communications and reconnaissance. Two carriers of Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles are on alert.

The assault aircraft of Ukraine’s Air Force launched powerful airstrikes on the positions of the occupiers. In virtually all directions, Ukrainian Su-25 assault aircraft and Su-24m bombers carried out up to twenty group combat sorties.
