Ukrainian military hold back enemy at border between Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region – Haidai
The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are holding back the enemy at the border between Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region. Russian occupiers are suffering significant losses, and they admit that themselves. Yesterday, Russians wanted to advance towards Donetsk Region, cut off the Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway, running near Bilohorivka, but they again have nothing to report to their leadership. Under the pressure off our defenders, the enemy was forced to retreat,” Haidai wrote.
In his words, every day Russians receive an order to advance, but not always they can carry it out due to significant losses in terms of personnel. Both prisoners of war and those who keep in touch with civilians in Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk admit that. During the assault on Lysychansk alone, thousands of Russian soldiers were killed and injured. In addition, Russian occupiers are facing problems with ammunition supplies, as the Ukrainian military have destroyed several ammunition depots in the occupied areas in recent weeks.
Haidai expressed confidence that Russia’s advantage in personnel numbers will be nullified immediately as the Ukrainian military receive more long-range weapons.
