First UAVs from Ukraine's Army of Drones already sent to front line
Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digital Transformation, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.
"Today the first batch of drones that you've sent to us as part of the Army of Drones [project] has already left for the front line to the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he wrote.
Fedorov said that what inspires the most "is not even the unity of Ukrainians in their desire to give their drone to help the army, because the unity of Ukrainians has already become a legend." "This is the fact that you send the drones with handwritten letters. With wishes of victory, with a drone description or with your own story," he said.
"Today we received such letters from Polina and Mykyta. Polina is 12. Mykyta is 14. Polina is worried if her drone is good enough to bring Ukraine's victory closer. Mykyta wants to work with us on the project in order to be useful. That's amazing," the minister said.
Fedorov said that everyone's donation is valuable. "Someone donates UAH 10 and someone donates UAH 1,000! We value every drone, every letter. We value all your efforts to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Please, don't stop," he said.
On July 1, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the UNITED24 platform announced the launch of the Army of Drones project. This is a comprehensive program that includes the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and quick replacement, as well as a pilot training course.
