So far, eight foreign companies have received recommendations from the State Emergency Service on how to join the process of humanitarian demining in Ukraine, and another 20 such agencies have expressed their desire to work in this area.

"Currently, the Danish Refugee Council and the Halo Trust are working very closely [in the demining area]. Eight companies and legal entities from Europe and the USA have already applied to the State Emergency Service and received recommendations on how to join this humanitarian demining process. And up to 20 organizations expressed their desire to work in this area," Viktor Vitovetskyi, director of the Department of Organization of Civil Protection Measures of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said during the nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of April 1, about 300,000 hectares of Ukrainian territories were contaminated with explosive objects, he noted.

"Currently, by mobilizing the efforts of the State Emergency Service and other agencies involved in demining, as well as international partners, it has already been possible to demine more than 60,000 hectares. And the efforts in this direction are being made very intensively. But we have to understand that this work will last for years," Vitovetskyi noted.
