At least 349 children killed by Russian invaders across Ukraine

Russian troops have killed 349 children in Ukraine since February 24, according to data provided by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

“As of the morning of July 13, 2022, more than 1,000 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s armed aggression. In particular, 349 children were killed and more than 652 were injured,” the PGO’s press service wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most casualties were recorded in Donetsk region - 352, Kharkiv region – 190, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region – 61, Mykolaiv region - 53, Kherson region – 52, and Zaporizhzhia region – 31.

In particular, the body of a nine-year-old boy was found in the course of emergency rescue works in the town of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, after shelling by Russian troops on July 9.

On July 12, in the city of Siversk, Donetsk region, two boys, 2 and 17, were wounded as a result of shelling. The two-year-old child is in serious condition.

In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 2,126 educational institutions. Of which, 216 were completely destroyed.
