EU trusts Ukrainian army, confident weapons being used properly - commissioner
EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports
"Ukraine is fighting an illegal invasion by Russia and needs arms to defend itself. The EU is materially supporting the Ukrainian army in full trust and with full confidence," she said.
EU spokesman Peter Stano said on July 14 that the European Union has no reason not to trust the Ukrainian Government which is leading a fight to defend the country and the Ukrainian people against a brutal aggressor.
Earlier, a number of Western media outlets suggested that NATO and the EU are allegedly concerned about arms smuggling from Ukraine. Both organizations denied such allegations, which may be the result of the Kremlin's disinformation campaign against Ukraine and Western countries.
