Ukraine Army repels assault near Bilohorivka, prevents enemy from advancing towards Bakhmut

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of 06:00 p.m., July 17, 2022, the situation remained rather unchanged in the Volyn, Polissia and Siverskyi directions. The enemy used artillery to shell such border settlements as Studenok, Volfyne, Bilopillia, Novi Vyrky and Iskryskivshchyna. Air reconnaissance is underway in the border areas of Chernihiv Region and Sumy Region.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops are trying to hold the captured frontiers. The enemy shelling was recorded near such settlements as Petrivka, Protopopivka, Prudianka, Ruski Tyshky, Pytomnyk, Staryi Saltiv, Chuhuiv, Mospanove, Udy, Vesele and others. Russian occupiers launched air strikes near Prudianka and Verkhnii Saltiv.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian invaders used mortars, cannon and rocket artillery to open fire near such settlements as Dolyna, Dibrovne, Ivanivka, Mazanivka, Bohorodychne, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Kurulka, Kostiantynivka, Virnopillia, Husarivka and others. In order to disrupt the control system of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and prevent air reconnaissance, the enemy is actively using radio-electronic warfare.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian troops continue to focus their main efforts on attempts to establish control over the city of Siversk and advance towards the city of Bakhmut.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure near such settlements as Donetske, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Zvanivka, Vyimka, Ivano-Darivka and others. Ukrainian defenders quickly suppressed enemy assaults near Hryhorivka. Russian occupiers suffered losses and retreated.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian invaders opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian forces with mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, in particular near Berestove, Vesele, Krasna Hora, Vershyna, Novoluhanske and Travneve. The enemy launched missile and air strikes near Kostiantynivka, Novoluhanske and Pokrovske. Russian occupiers tried to storm and advance near Berestove, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka and Novoluhanske. The enemy’s poor actions again ended in failure and losses.

In the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy shelling was recorded near Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Stepnohirsk and Stepove. The enemy launched missile and air strikes near Pokrovsk and Novoselivka Druha.

Russian invaders attempted to improve their tactical position near Mykhailivka, Pavlivka and Novomykhailivka. They were repulsed and forced to ingloriously escape.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian troops are attempting to disrupt the logistical support of Ukrainian forces with systematic shelling. The enemy opened fire on civilian and military infrastructure near such settlements as Bila Krynytsia, Bereznehuvate, Ternivka, Veselyi Kut, Blahodatne, Kvitneve, Lotskyne, Novohryhorivka, Myrne, Prybuzke, Lupareve, Bashtanka and others. Russian occupiers launched missile strikes on Mykolaiv.

Air reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles continues. There is a high threat of further missile strikes on the region’s critical infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to complete missile and artillery fire missions in the designated directions and beat Russian invaders in close combat.
