Ukraine urgently requires ATACMS missiles, able to engage targets at a distance of up to 300 kilometers, which would be a “real game changer” on the front lines.

That’s according to Lithuania’s former foreign minister Linas Linkevicius.

“We can see efficiency of #HIMARS. #Ukraine also urgently needs #ATACMS which are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 250-300 kilometres,” Linkevicius tweeted.

He stressed that the weapon is a “real game changer,” adding that “time is urgent.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, said that Ukraine is discussing with the U.S. all possibilities for supplies of new types of weapons.

On July 19, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, discussed with the Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley the operational situation on the eve of the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine Defense. Zaluzhnyi told his counterpart that the timely arrival of M142 HIMARS, which deliver targeted strikes on enemy control and command posts, ammunition and fuel depots, helped stabilize the situation at the front line, which is now tense but fully under control.
