Ukraine Army repels enemy assaults towards Verkhniokamianske, Siversk

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As of 06:00 a.m., July 23, 2022, Russian troops continued to launch missile strikes on military and civilian objects in Ukraine.

In the Volyn, Polissia and Siverskyi directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. In the Siverskyi direction, Russian invaders opened fire on the village of Mykolaivka, Chernihiv Region.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian occupiers are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing towards the state border in the north and north-east of Kharkiv Region.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops did not take active actions but opened fire with tanks, cannon and rocket artillery near such settlements as Kharkiv, Zolochiv, Pytomnyk, Borshchova, Lisne, Ruski Tyshky, Cherkaski Tyshky and Mospanove.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy did not take active actions. Russian troops opened fire near Hrushuvakha, Dolyna, Krasnopillia, Dibrovne, Mazanivka, Protopopivka, Chepil, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Nortsivka, Bohorodychne, Virnopilla and Karnaukhivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian invaders opened fire with tanks, cannon and rocket artillery near Verkhniokamianske, Starodubivka, Pyskunivka, Siversk, Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, Spirne and Vyimka. Ukrainian defenders successfully repulsed enemy assaults in the direction of Verkhniokamianske and Siversk.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian occupiers launched artillery strikes near Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Pokrovske, Bakhmutske and Novoluhanske. The enemy also launched air strikes near Novoluhanske.

Russian troops again conducted assault operations in the direction of Pokrovske and the Vuhlehirsk TPP, and again suffered losses and retreated.

In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy shelling was recorded near Novobakhmutivka, Pisky, Vuhledar, Opytne, Vodiane, Prechystivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoyakovlivka, Uspenivka, Orikhiv, Pavlivka, Novopil, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka and Mali Shcherbaky. Russian troops also launched air strikes near Krasnohorivka and Kamianka.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian occupiers continue to defend the previously captured positions, focusing efforts to restrain the counteroffensive actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The enemy opened fire with tanks, cannon and rocket artillery all over the contact line.

Outside the naval bases, there are two enemy Kalibr cruise missiles carriers.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s assault and combat aviation, rocket and artillery units continue to successfully strike enemy strong points, depots and personnel clusters in certain directions.
