Hollywood star and American actress Jessica Chastain has visited Ukraine's Kyiv region.

The press service of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

"The American actress visited the site of a residential complex destroyed by Russian troops in Irpin. Jessica Chastain, together with Vitalii Vlasiuk, deputy head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, visited one of the Irpin families who lost their home during the Russian shelling of civilian buildings," the report said.

During this visit, Chastain heard from the witnesses of the terrible events about the facts of the war crimes committed by Russian troops and everything that the civilians had to experience during the hostilities in the city. She expressed her solidarity with the entire Ukrainian people and was shocked by the scale of destruction left behind by the Russian army.

"We are grateful to everyone who supports us and does not leave us alone with a terrible tragedy. It is very important that the whole world knows the truth about the war in Ukraine, Russian war crimes in the Kyiv region. And it is world-famous cultural figures who can tell about it. We thank Jessica Chastain for her support and determination," Vlasiuk said.
