Fifth caravan of grain ships leaves Ukrainian ports
The Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry said this in a statement, Ukrinform reports.
"This morning, the fifth caravan of ships with agricultural products left Ukrainian ports. It consists of the ship Sormovskiy 121, which left the port of Chornomorsk, and the bulk carrier Star Laura, which departed from the port of Pivdenny. They are carrying more than 63,000 tonnes of agricultural products," the statement.
The ministry added that the Star Laura had become the first Panamax-class vessel to leave the Pivdenny port since the beginning of the implementation of a grain deal and the third in the general list of large vessels that are already heading through the "grain corridor."
In addition, it is expected that two more ships – the Brave Commander and the Petrel S – would arrive at the ports of Chornomorsk and Pivdenny for loading on Saturday. They will carry more than 40,000 tonnes of Ukrainian grain.
Since the beginning of August, about 375,000 tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs have been exported from Ukrainian ports through the humanitarian sea corridor.
