Enemy wants to resume offensive in certain directions

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, August 18, published on Facebook.

As noted, the enemy continues to focus its efforts on establishing full control over the territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, holding the temporarily captured areas of Kherson region and parts of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions, creating favorable conditions for resuming the offensive in certain directions, as well as blocking Ukraine's maritime communications in the Black Sea.

The Russians continue to launch air and missile strikes on military and civilian objects in the territory of Ukraine.

In Volyn and Polissya directions, the situation has not changed significantly. The units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to strengthen the protection of a section of Belarus-Ukraine border in Brest and Gomel regions.

There is still a threat of the enemy missile and air strikes launched from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus.

In Siversk direction, the units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are stationed in border areas of Bryansk and Kursk regions to constrain the actions of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The enemy fired artillery on the areas of Vovkivka, Yastrubyne, and Popivka in Sumy region.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues to conduct hostilities to hold previously occupied lines and prevent the offensive of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy opened fire from tanks, tube and rocket artillery on the areas of Karasivka, Petrivka, Bazaliyivka, Rtyshchivka, Duvanka, Ivanivka, Mospanove, Lisne, Velyki Prohody, Pytomnyk, Husarivka, and Chepil.

The Russians remotely placed mines near Lebyazhe.

In Slovyansk direction, the enemy shelled the districts of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillia, Adamivka, and Dovhenke with artillery.

In Kramatorsk direction, the enemy fired from tanks and MLRS on the areas of Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Spirne, Donetsk, Ivano-Daryivka, Siversk, Zvanivka, and Raihorodok. An airstrike was launched near Vesele.

The invaders went on an offensive in Mykolaivka – Vyimka direction, but failed and retreated.

In Bakhmut direction, shelling was recorded near Bakhmut, Soledar, Rozdolivka, Kodema, and Mayorsk.

The occupiers went on an offensive in the directions of Volodymyrivka – Soledar, Pokrovske – Bakhmutske, Pokrovske – Bakhmut, Klynove – Bakhmut, Semyhirya – Zaitseve, Semyhirya – Kodema, and Holmivskyi – Zaitseve. The invaders did not achieve any positive results in any of directions and retreated with losses.

In Avdiivka direction, the enemy opened fire from tube, rocket artillery, and tanks near Avdiivka, Marinka, Oleksandropol, Pisky, Pervomaiske, and Opytne.

The Russians went on an offensive in the direction of Lozove – Pervomaiske, but failed and retreated.

In Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy defend the occupied areas. The Russians shelled the areas of Novosilka, Novomykhailivka, Bohoyavlenka, Stepnohirsk, Shevchenko, Burlatske, Zaliznychne, Huliaypilske, Lukyanivske, Preobrazhenka, Poltavka.

The enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance with UAVs near Poltavka, Huliaypole, Malynyivka, Zelenyi Hay, Shcherbaky, and Novoyakovlivka.

The invaders tried to assault the direction of Yehorivka – Shevchenkove, but failed and retreated.

In Southerh Buh direction, the main efforts of the enemy's forces are focused on holding the occupied areas and restraining the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Shelling was recorded near the localities of Mykolaiv, Stepova Dolyna, Luch, Posad-Pokrovske, Halytsynove, Oleksandrivka, Myrne, Shyroke, Kvitneve, Kyselivka, Kobzartsi, Pervomayske, Kavkaz, Murakhivka, Andriivka, Osokorivka, Ivanivka, and Trudoliubivka.

The enemy launched airstrikes near Bila Krynytsia, Blahodatne, and Khutirska creek.

The Russians conducted aerial reconnaissance with UAVs in the areas of Bilohirka, Lozove, Pervomaiske, Oleksandrivka, Trudoliubivka, Osokorivka, and Ivanivka.

According to available information, two sea-launched cruise missile carriers are ready to use high-precision weapons.
