War update: Russians launch offensive in Mykolaiv direction, attempt to hold ground in Kharkiv region

That’s according to an operational update delivered by the Ukrainian Army’s General Staff, Ukrinform reports.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, Ukrainian forces detected no signs of formation of a Belarusian and Russian armies’ strike group near the border with Ukraine.

The threat of the enemy missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus remains in place.

In the Siversky region, the enemy keeps a number of units from the Western Military District in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions in order to constrain Ukraine’s defense forces.

Russian occupiers shelled Ukrainian positions in the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions, employing mortars.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on holding gained ground, firing barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Karasivka, Velyki Prohody, Chernyaky, Pischane, and Pechenihy.

The enemy carried out airstrikes near Prudyanka and Verkhniy Saltiv, also conducting aerial reconnaissance near Ruski Tyshky and Zolochiv.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on resuming offensive operations. Russian barrel and jet artillery opened fire at the areas of Asiivka, Husarivka, Chepil, Protopopivka, and Dovhenke, as well as carried out an airstrike near Zalyman.

The occupiers waged offensive battles in the directions of Brazhkivka – Novodmytrivka, Sulyhivka – Novodmytrivka, Brazhkivka – Virnopillia, and Dovhenke – Kurulka. As a result, the Ukrainian units inflicted losses on the enemy forces and pushed them back.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues offensive operations and concentrates its efforts in the Bakhmut direction.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian barrel and jet artillery shelled the areas of Kramatorsk, Rozdolivka, Spirne, Zvanivka and Raihorodok. An airstrike was recorded near Ivano-Daryivka.

The invaders tried to launch an offensive in the direction of Spirne - Ivano-Daryivka and Mykolaivka - Vyimka, without success.

In the direction of Bakhmut, Russian tanks, barrel artillery, and multiple rocket launchers shelled the areas near Mayorsk, Vesela Dolyna, Bakhmut, Kodema, and Bilohorivka. In addition, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the latter three settlements.

With offensive and assault actions, the occupiers tried to improve their tactical position in the directions of Stryapivka - Soledar, Pokrovske - Bakhmutske, Pokrovske - Bakhmut, Vershyna - Zaitseve, Vershyna - Kodema, Travneve - Zaitseve, Travneve - Kodema, Semyhirya - Zaytseve, and Hladosove – Kodema – all with no success as they have faced a harsh rebuff.

In the Avdiyivka direction, the enemy tanks and artillery of various types opened fire near Avdiyivka, Kurakhove, Krasnohorivka, Sukha Balka, and Nevelske. Airstrikes were recorded near Vodiane and Maryinka.

The enemy fought unsuccessful offensive battles in the directions of Horlivka - Mayorsk, Spartak - Opytne, Donetsk - Pisky, and Staromykhailivka - Pervomaiske.

In the direction of Novopavlivka, the enemy shelled the areas near Pavlivka, Yelizavetivka, Novosilka, Vuhledar, and Novomykhailivka. An offensive battle was fought in the direction of Blahodatne - Zolota Nyva, with no success for the enemy forces which were forced to retreat.

In the Zaporizhia direction, the enemy is trying to prevent the advance of Ukraine’s forces. Russian tanks, barrel artillery, and MLR systems opened fire in the areas of Velykomykhailivka, Shevchenko, Hulyaipilske, Shevchenkivske, Novoandriivka, Novopil, Olhivske, Shcherbaky, Burlatske, and Stepove. Enemy aviation operated in the areas of Bilohirya, Zaliznychne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on holding the occupied ground and restraining the actions of Ukraine’s defense forces, also trying to improve own tactical position in the Mykolaiv direction.

Russian tanks and artillery of various calibers opened fire near Mykolaiv, Ukrainka, Oleksandrivka, and fifteen other settlements, as well as conducted an airstrike near Olhany. The Russians also ran an offensive battle in the direction of Vasylka - Blahodatne.

The enemy's naval group retains in full combat-readiness two Kalibr cruise missile carriers.
