Two civilians killed, three injured in Russia’s shelling of Kharkiv Region
The relevant statement was made by Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Syniehubov on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Around 02:00 a.m., the enemy launched a missile strike on the city of Chuhuiv, having caused damage to an infrastructure facility. According to the preliminary data, there were no casualties. Around 02:30 a.m., the enemy launched a missile strike on the city of Derhachi, having destroyed an educational institution. Sadly, a 50-year-old woman was killed, and a 59-year-old man was injured. Information is yet to be checked,” the report states.
In addition to missile strikes, Russian troops have been shelling Chuhuiv District and Bohodukhiv District over the past day. Residential houses, household buildings, civilian industrial objects were damaged. Several cars were destroyed, and some fires broke out.
“At the contact line, hostilities continue. The enemy opens fire on our positions and adjacent settlements with cannon and rocket artillery, tanks, and uses unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Our defenders decently resist, inflict losses to the enemy and reliably hold their positions,” Syniehubov added.
A reminder that some districts of Kharkiv Region are under continuous enemy fire. According to the police, over 1,000 civilians have been killed in Kharkiv Region since the Russian armed aggression started.
