Ukrainian troops continue preparations for counteroffensive – intelligence
"The preparations for a counteroffensive are ongoing, we receive new weapons. The main goal is the complete de-occupation of the territories and it requires a counteroffensive operation," Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said during the nationwide telethon.
At the same time, according to him, the invaders reinforce their positions, particularly in the south, preparing to defend themselves.
Skibitskyi also noted that both the Ukrainian and Russian sides were currently preparing for more active hostilities.
The intelligence representative also added that the Russian Federation had redeployed the group of the Eastern Military District from the east of Ukraine to the south over the past month. This group of troops took part in the invasion of Ukraine, first being stationed in Belarus and then in Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions. Now these enemy forces are operating in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
As reported, according to Ukrainian experts, the third phase of confrontation in the war has begun. As of the end of August, Russia no longer fully owns the initiative, and Ukraine does not yet.
