President: 27,760 defenders of Ukraine awarded since February 24
As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address, “volunteers and officials, journalists and workers of utility service enterprises, communications operators, transport workers and athletes, artists, musicians, public figures, workers of the energy industry, post office...” will be awarded.
There are also those who are awarded, unfortunately, posthumously, the President noted.
“Of course, I also signed decrees on awarding our soldiers – in the Armed Forces, in intelligence, in the Security Service of Ukraine. In total, since February 24, 27,760 of our defenders have been given state awards of Ukraine,” Zelensky noted.
He also announced the decree on awarding friends of Ukraine abroad, those who help Ukraine in the struggle for freedom.
On February 24, Russia began a new stage of the eight-year war against Ukraine – a full-scale offensive. The Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure facilities, massively fire on the residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages with artillery, rocket launchers, aerial bombs, and ballistic missiles.
The Ukrainian defenders are fiercely resisting the invaders, inflicting heavy losses on them.
