"Powerful explosions are heard in the city! Everyone must go to shelter immediately," Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych posted on Telegram.
As Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, posted on Telegram, the Russian invaders are shelling Mykolaiv center with rockets.
"The Russians are shelling Mykolaiv center heavily. Rockets are fired. Don't come out of shelters," Kim wrote.
Later he added that residential buildings came under fire. A passer-by was killed and civilians staying inside houses were injured.
As reported, Mykolaiv has not come under attack only 23 days since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
