Russian troops attempt to break through in Bakhmut direction, Kadyrov’s men involved

The Ukrainian military have repelled attacks by Russian troops in such directions as Southern Bug, Kharkiv, Avdiivka and Bakhmut. In the Bakhmut direction, Kadyrov’s men are trying to advance towards Zaitseve and Maiorsk; hostilities are underway.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook as of 06:00 p.m., September 2, 2022, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces are attempting to establish full control over Donetsk Region and hold the occupied areas of Kherson Region, Kharkiv Region, Zaporizhzhia Region and Mykolaiv Region. The enemy continues to launch air and missile strikes on Ukraine’s military and civilian objects.

On the night of September 2, 2022, Russian invaders launched five missile strikes on Kharkiv, including two with the S-300 missile system. The enemy also fired 23 rocket projectiles with the Grad and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) at Ivanivka, including two with cluster munitions.

In addition, Russian troops launched nine air strikes on Marinka, Soledar, Peremoha and Zaitseve.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remained rather unchanged.

Belarusian forces continue to strengthen the protection of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest Region and Gomel Region. Preparations for regular military exercises are underway.

In Brest, Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units were deployed to conduct reconnaissance within Ukraine’s border areas.

In the Siverskyi direction, Russia’s separate units are kept in the border areas of Bryansk Region and Kursk Region. The enemy opened fire on Chernihiv Region’s Senkivka, Khrinivka, Kamianska Sloboda and Sumy Region’s Novovasylivka, Maiske, Sukhodil and Nova Sloboda.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the situation remained rather unchanged. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are holding their positions and preventing the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of Ukraine.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops opened fire near Udy, Sosnivka, Velyki Prokhody, Pytomnyk, Ruski Tyshky, Cherkaski Tyshky, Petrivka, Peremoha, Staryi Saltiv and Pryshyb. Near Lebiazhe, the enemy carried out remote demining.

The Ukrainian military successfully repelled an attack by Russian troops near Husarivka.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian invaders used tanks, mortars, cannon artillery and MLRS near Virnopillia, Brazhivka, Dibrivne, Dolyna, Bohorodychne, Donetske, Raihorodok and Krasnopilla. The enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops opened fire near Verkhniokamianske, Ivano-Darivka, Pereizne, Vesele, Rozdolivka, Hryhorivka and Siversk.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian occupiers used mortars, tanks, cannon and rocket artillery to open fire near Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Kodema, Maiorsk, New York, Sukha Balka, Yurivka.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the direction of Soledar, Bakhmutske and Vesela Dolyna.

With offensive actions, Russia’s units of the so-called ‘Kadyrov’s men’ are trying to advance in the direction of Zaitseve and Maiorsk. Hostilities continue.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops opened fire on Tonenke, Avdiivka, Karlivka, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Opytne, Vesele, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Marinka.

With offensive and assault actions, the enemy tried to improve their tactical position in the direction of Pervomaiske, Opytne and Nevelske. Thanks to the coordinated actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the enemy was pushed back to the previously captured frontiers.

Russian troops did not conduct active offensive actions in the Novopavlivka direction. The enemy opened fire near Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Bohoiavlenka, Prechystivka, Novomaiorsk and Mykilske.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian invaders opened fire near Novoocheretuvate, Novosilka, Vremivka, Novopole, Novodarivka, Zaliznychne, Dorozhnianka, Novodanylivka and Bilohiria.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian occupiers opened fire near Shyroke, Partyzanske, Novopetrivka, Trudoliubivka, Liubomirivka, Shevchenkove, Luch, Stepova Dolyna, Prybuzke, Lymany, Tavriiske and Liubymivka.

The Ukrainian military successfully repelled enemy attacks near Vysokopilla and Potyomkine.

Russia’s naval group in the the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov continues to conduct reconnaissance and block civilian shipping.

The threat of missile strikes on military and infrastructure facilities situated deep into the territory of Ukraine is persisting.

According to the data from the General Staff, a company of Russian troops, which had been based in Lost World [Zahublenyi Svit] Sports Club, left Kherson with five covered trucks, carrying looted property to the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Meanwhile, three enemy artillery systems, one ammunition depot and about a company of Russian troops were destroyed with the precision strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson and Enerhodar.

In cooperation with the combat aviation of the Ground Forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to strike the enemy’s critically important objects, personnel and military equipment clusters, command posts, ammunition and fuel depots.
