MFA reacts to Russia's attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
He said Russian forces had targeted power stations, causing widespread electricity outages.
"This is an act of desperation following Russia's immense losses and retreat in eastern Ukraine," Nikolenko wrote.
He added that even with its terrorist tactics, Russia is doomed to lose this war.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, in turn, wrote that "terrorist Russia has hit civilian infrastructure, leaving thousands of Ukrainians without electricity, water and heat." According to him, Putin plans more of such tactics in the winter.
"He must get a tough response now. Russia must be recognized state sponsor of terrorism," Kuleba said.
Late on September 11, the enemy launched 11 cruise missiles across Ukraine. The strikes caused power outages in a number of regions.
