Russian armed aggression affects over 1,149 children in Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of September 19, 2022, over 1,149 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile inspectors, a total of 390 children were killed and over 759 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (395), Kharkiv region (219), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (72), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (61), Kherson region (55), Zaporizhzhia region (46) and Dnipropetrovsk region (26).
On September 18, 2022, an 11-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk. A 12-year-old girl was also injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region’s Toretsk.
As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 2,500 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 289 of them were destroyed completely.
A reminder that about 260,000 Ukrainian children were forcibly deported to Russia.
