Over 5,000 Russian troops end up in ‘Lyman pocket’ – Haidai
Ukrinform
Over 5,000 Russian troops have been encircled by Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region’s Lyman.
The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of October 1, 2022, the Russian military stationed in Lyman appealed to their command with a request to withdraw but got a refusal. Over 5,000 Russian troops are now encircled,” Haidai wrote.
In his words, enemy troops will make attempts to break through or surrender.
Nearly all the routes used to retreat or deliver ammunition have been blocked, Haidai stressed.
