Russia already used 86 kamikaze drones to attack Ukraine, 60% of them downed - General Staff

Russia has already used a total of 86 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones to strike Ukraine, 60% of them were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"Last night, the forces and means of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 9 out of 12 kamikaze drones. In total, since the beginning of the enemy's use of kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles of Shahed-136 type, they deployed 86 units, of which 60% were destroyed," Hromov said.

He added that the enemy will continue to terrorize the civilian population of Ukraine with the threat of using missiles, aviation and UAVs, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine protect the Ukrainian sky, making every effort to minimize the consequences of enemy shelling.

As reported, on September 13, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that the Ukrainian military downed a Shahed-136 drone near Kupiansk, Kharkiv region.
