Ukraine’s Air Force, artillery engage enemy forces over 200 times in country’s south

That’s according to Operational Command South, Ukrinform reports.

"The situation in the South Buh operational zone has undergone no significant changes: it remains difficult, albeit controlled. The enemy has been running defensive operations, trying to hold the occupied lines. Targeting the positions of our troops and communities adjacent to the front line and rear areas, the enemy is using all available weaponry, aviation, kamikaze and recon drones to bring devastation," the statement says.

Throughout the day, enemy platoons went on assault missions in the direction of Kostromka and Sukyi Stavok. Having suffered losses, the enemy retreated. In the evening, motorized rifle platoons went on an offensive on the positions of the Armed Forces. Confronted with mortar battery fire, the enemy was retreated to the previously occupied positions.

Enemy aircraft attacked Mykolaiv region. The Russians also employ the Smerch MLR systems, including those equipped with proscribed munitions, against civilian targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force carried out 14 sorties, inflicting damage on the enemy air defense systems and weapons and manpower clusters.

Missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine performed more than 190 fire missions. According to confirmed data, the enemy lost 36 soldiers, a tank, two fuel tankers, two armored vehicles, three large-caliber artillery systems, four helicopters, and five ammo depots.

In addition, four kamikaze drones were shot down over Vinnytsia and one more over Cherkasy region.

"An enemy naval group of 12 warships is maneuvering in the same area as earlier. Three large amphibious ships, two surface missile carriers armed with 16 Kalibr missiles remain in full combat readiness. Threats of missile strikes, kamikaze drone attacks, and jet artillery shelling remain relevant within the said weaponry range," the Command concluded.

As reported, from February 24 to October 12, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 63,380 Russian soldiers.
