President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, addressed the citizens of the Russian Federation.

The statement came in the president’s evening video address, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Well, here’s to the citizens of Russia who do not wish to participate in this criminal war, but who are being deployed to this war, I will once again remind you of one possibility. Everyone who surrenders to Ukrainian captivity will save their life. Everyone who continues to fight in the Russian army or among mercenaries will have no such opportunity," said Zelensky.

He emphasized that Ukraine will definitely regain what belongs to it.

As Zelensky noted late September, three things are guaranteed to those Russian servicemen who choose to lay down their arms and surrender.

"Ukraine guarantees every Russian soldier who surrenders three things. First, you will be treated in a civilized manner, in accordance with all conventions. Second, no one will know the circumstances of your surrender, no one in Russia will know that your surrender was voluntary. And third, if you are afraid to return to Russia and do not want an exchange, we will find a way to ensure this as well," Zelensky said.
