Artillery, missile units complete about 130 fire missions in southern Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by the South Operational Command on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Last night the artillery and missile units of the Defense Forces launched strikes on enemy positions and clusters. About 130 fire missions were completed. The enemy’s losses are yet to be checked,” the report states.
In the Southern Bug direction, the situation is remaining tense and challenging but “steadily controlled” by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Russian troops continue to carry out defensive actions and make attempts to hold the occupied frontiers.
On the night of October 23, 2022, Russian invaders used aviation, multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery and mortars to open fire on Ukrainian positions all over the contact line. Such districts as Mykolaiv, Bashtanka and Beryslav came under enemy fire.
Enemy spy drones were detected at the border of the Kherson region and the Mykolaiv region.
Last night Russian troops massively attacked southern Ukraine with Shahed-136 suicide drones. Ukrainian forces shot down 14 of them over the Mykolaiv region and one over the Dnipropetrovsk region’s Nikopol district.
Three enemy drones caused damage to a critical infrastructure facility in the Mykolaiv district.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian invaders used the Uragan MLRS and 152-mm artillery pieces to open fire on the Nikopol district’s Marhanets community. No casualties among civilians were reported. The scale of destructions is yet to be checked.
In the morning of October 23, 2022, Russian troops attacked the city of Nikopol with the Uragan MLRS. Six civilians were injured. Residential houses, kindergarten and several private businesses were seriously damaged.
Russia’s naval group in the Black Sea consists of 10 warships and boats, including two large landing craft. Three Kalibr-type cruise missile carriers are remaining combat ready with a total volley of 24 missiles.
