As many as 50,000 dolphins have already died in the Black Sea due to the use of Russian warships, with the marine animals hitting mines.

According to Ukrinform, the animal welfare organization UAnimals said this in a Facebook post.

"Enemy surface ships and submarines create powerful sound signals that strike dolphins. As a result, the animals cannot navigate in space, get blind and hit mines. Russia is committing ecocide in Ukraine, destroying all living things," the report said.

Ukrinform reported earlier that this winter, the Kyiv Zoo, in addition to its permanent residents, would be home to more than 200 animals rescued from the most affected regions of Ukraine during the war.
