Armed Forces of Ukraine push back Russian forces in east

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00 on October 24 published on Facebook.

“The enemy tries to hold the temporarily captured territories and improve its tactical position. The enemy focuses its efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces in separate directions, while going on the offensive in Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

Today, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmut, Andriivka, Marinka, and Pervomaiske settlements. Our troops pushed back the enemy in the settlements of Karmazynivka, Myasozharivka, and Nevske in Luhansk region and Novosadove in Donetsk region," the report reads.

The enemy shells the Ukrainian along the contact line and conducts aerial reconnaissance. Today, the enemy has launched missile strikes and airstrikes on the infrastructure and homes of civilian population, violating the norms of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of warfare.

In general, the invaders launched three missile strikes, seven airstrikes, and three MLRS attacks.

The enemy struck the civilian infrastructure objects in Kupyansk of Kharkiv region, Vuhledar and Soledar of Donetsk region, and Mykolaiv city.

According to the General Staff data, the situation has not changed significantly in Volyn and Polissia directions. There is still a threat of missile strikes and airstrikes on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

The enemy opened fire in other directions. In particular, in Slobozhansky direction, the Russians fired tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery on the areas of Krasne, Ohirtseve, Starytsia, and Chuhunivka settlements.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the aggressor struck the areas of Berestove, Kyslivka, Kamyanka, Dronivka, Zarichne, Nadia, and Bilohorivka with tanks and artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy used tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery to shell the settlements of Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Ozarianivka, Opytne, Soledar, Spirne, and Yakovlivka.

In Avdiivka direction, the Russians shelled the areas of Avdiivka, Berdychiv, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Marinka, and Pervomaiske with tanks and artillery.

In Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the aggressor struck the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Malynivka, Mykilske, Olhivske, Pavlivka, and Shevchenko with tanks and artillery.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy fired, in particular, on the areas of Kvitneve, Blahodatne, Bilohirka, Pravdyne, Partyzanske, Davydiv Brid, and Tryfonivka.

In order to slow down the counteroffensive of Ukrainian units, the invaders continue to mine bridges and crossings on the retreat routes in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian aviation has launched 17 strikes today, hitting 13 areas of enemy weapons and military equipment build-up and four air defense positions. In addition, the air defense units shot down two helicopters in different directions.

Ukrainian missile and artillery forces hit four Russian command posts, 10 areas of manpower, weapons, and military equipment build-up, six ammunition depots, an anti-aircraft missile system, an area of ​​artillery firing positions, and three other important enemy objects.
