Russia may blow up residential blocks in Kherson region in act of terror - General Staff

Russian troops are capable of blowing up residential buildings while evacuating Kherson region.

That’s according to the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of Ukraine Army’s General Staff, Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, who spoke at a Kyiv briefing on the security situation in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"Given the lack of any humanity in the ‘world’s second-strongest army,’ their failure to comply with international conventions, as well as the pathological lies of all Kremlin politicians and propagandists, the enemy can indeed make a ‘difficult decision.’ It is most likely that during the retreat, the enemy may resort to a series of terrorist attacks involving detonations in residential areas and transformation of temporarily occupied territories into scorched earth, aimed at inflicting critical damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure," Hromov said.

The official added that, taking into account the latest claims by the Russians regarding the ‘dirty bomb,’ it is possible that the invaders may set up detonations at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant with the aim of disabling it and provoking a local man-made disaster, blaming Ukraine for this. Even the consequences of the man-made disaster predicted by the Russian military were voiced taking into account the wind’s westerly direction and the corresponding spread of hazardous material. And this also indicates that the Russians are preparing yet another crime against humanity.

As reported, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, held phone calls with his counterparts from France, Turkey, and Great Britain, during which he "expressed concern over the alleged possible use of a ‘dirty bomb’ by Ukraine."

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine believes that Russia's allegations of Ukraine allegedly plotting to deploy a "dirty bomb" indicate that Russia has already plotted just the same, so the world should react to this as harshly as possible.

The top diplomats of the U.S., France, and Great Britain issued a joint statement, condemning Russia's false attempts to accuse Ukraine of preparing to employ a "dirty bomb" on its own soil. They also reaffirmed their steadfast support for Ukraine.
