Enemy shells 15 settlements in Donetsk region in past day – police

Russian troops have shelled 15 settlements in Donetsk region in the past day. There are casualties among the civilian population.  

This was reported by the National Police press service, according to Ukrinform.

The cities of Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Soledar, Chasiv Yar, the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Pivnichne, New York, the villages of Kurdiumivka, Opytne, Sieverne, Lastochkyno, Karlivka, Tonenke, Bakhmutske, and Druzhba came under enemy fire.

Five residential buildings and a kindergarten were destroyed and damaged by Russian strikes. It was established that the invaders used artillery, mortars, Grad and Uragan MLRS.

According to the police, the artillery shelling by Russian troops does not stop in the Bakhmut direction. In particular, Russian strikes killed people in Kurdiumivka and Pivnichne. There are injured in Bakhmut, Soledar and Bakhmutske. Infrastructure objects and private houses were damaged.

Law enforcers opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It is noted that with the help of the police, 321 more residents of Donetsk region were evacuated on October 28. Since the beginning of mandatory evacuation, more than 26,800 people, including 4,187 children and 1,644 people with disabilities, have been evacuated from the region to safer areas of Ukraine.
