Invaders remove prisoners from Kherson colony, set up military base there

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 06:00, October 30, which was posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the General Staff, the enemy is trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, focusing its efforts on attempts to disrupt the actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions, and is conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

In the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have repelled attacks by the occupiers in the areas of Yakovlivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Oleksandropil, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region

The Russian forces continue to shell the positions of Ukrainian troops along the contact line, fortify defensive positions and conduct aerial reconnaissance.  

The enemy continues to violate the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war, attacking the civilian infrastructure and civilian residential areas.

In the past 24 hours, the invaders launched 5 missile attacks and 23 airstrikes, more than 100 MLRS attacks. Areas of more than 45 settlements were affected. Among them are Sloviansk and Siversk in Donetsk region, Zaporizhzhia and Novooleksandrivka in Kherson region.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation has not changed significantly. Belarus continues to support Russia’s armed aggression against Ukrainians. The Russian Federation continues to transfer individual units to the territory of this country. There is still a threat of missile and airstrikes on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus, including the use of UAVs.

In other directions, the enemy used tanks, mortars and artillery of various types to shell settlements:

in the Siverskyi direction, the enemy struck the areas of Rozhkovychi, Budky, Mezenivka, Fotovyzh and Myropillia of Sumy region;

in the Slobozhanske direction - the areas of Ternova, Vovchansk, Veterynarne, Vilkhuvatka, Hatyshche, Hryhorivka, Kamianka, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Strelecha and Chuhunivka settlements;

in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions - the areas of Kyslivka, Krokhmalne, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Novoyehorivka, Berestove, Nevske, Olhivka, Terny, Torske, and Yampolivka;

in the Bakhmut direction - the areas of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Zvanivka, Siversk, Zelenopillia, Soledar, Odradivka, Opytne, New York, Vasiukivka, Serebrianka and Yakovlivka;

in the Avdiivka direction - the areas of Avdiivka, Nevelske, Vesele, Vodiane, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Pervomaiske and Opytne settlements;

in the Novopavlivske direction - the areas of Vremivka, Vuhledar, Yehorivka, Mykilske, Novoukrainka, Pavlivka and Prechystivka settlements.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy inflicted fire damage on the areas of Huliaipole, Nove, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Zelenyi Hay, Temyrivka, Olhivske, and Chervone settlements.

In the Sothern Bug direction, about 20 settlements along the contact line came under enemy fire. The settlements of Nikopol and Vyshchetarasivka in Dnipropetrovsk region and Havrylivka in Kherson region came under enemy missile and barrel artillery shelling.

According to the available information, during the so-called "evacuation", the occupiers removed prisoners from Kherson penal colony No.90. The enemy is using the territory of the mentioned institution for the placement of Russian army personnel and military equipment.
